This workshop enhances the skills of people who are seeking management and leadership roles. By increasing their understanding of how to influence others, via an introduction to the theory, practice and ideals of authority, the workshop helps to unleash the potential of participants who want to succeed, and progress, within a set workplace structure.

Discussions on best practice leadership and activities, which enhance the leadership and learning processes of people and teams, ensure this specialist leadership course helps to ready every NSW public sector employee for viable workplace promotions.

By improving the ability of participants to identify their own leadership traits the workshop introduces leadership fundamentals and aligns with the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework.

Learning outcomes and content includes

  • Understand characteristics and competencies required of managers and leaders
  • Understand levels of work-based management leadership styles (characteristics and competencies)
  • Understand the different leadership styles
  • Identify and build confidence to use a range of tools and strategies required to be an effective manager
  • Identify strategies that engage people and teams to help them achieve their desired outcomes
